Finding New Coverage

  • Q: What do I do when I receive my non-renewal notice?
A: You should contact your agent as soon as possible to discuss your options to secure property coverage to avoid any lapse in coverage.

Q:  What other resource is available to assist me in finding new coverage?
    A.  You are encouraged to contact your agent to inquire about securing insurance through another insurance company.

  • In addition, you may visit www.helpinsure.com to find companies that are selling homeowners policies in your area. Helpinsure.com is a free service of the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and the Office of Public Insurance Counsel.

If you have been declined residential property insurance by at least two insurance companies you may be eligible for coverage with the Texas FAIR Plan. To obtain coverage you must contact an agent who is authorized to sell Texas FAIR Plan coverage. Ask your current agent if they are authorized to sell through the Texas FAIR Plan.
